Villains Basketball Scholarship

Villains Basketball Organization ('VBO') scholarships provide temporary support for players in our member communities who lack the economic resources to participate in club basketball. While families are typically required to purchase uniforms and pay club fees, VBO may offer:

• Full assistance (including uniforms)

• Partial assistance (e.g., registration fees only)

• Volunteer opportunities in lieu of fees

• Payment plans

• A combination of the above

Qualifications & Rules

The Villains Basketball Organization Board will determine assistance based on financial need. To ensure availability for more families, players are limited to two financial assistance grants, except in dire circumstances. Families must submit a statement of need, which the committee will review at its sole discretion.
 

Application Requirements

The application form should collect the following:
- Family name
- Member community and level requested (Feather, Middle, etc.)
- A narrative (max 300 words) explaining the situation, the type of assistance desired, and any helpful context for the committee.
- A commitment stating that if the family's financial situation improves, they will resume normal payments so that 'Villains Basketball Organization' can support another family.
 

Privacy & Process

All applicant information will be kept confidential by the VBO President, Secretary, and Treasurer, and shared with the Executive Board only as needed. Following a review, families will be contacted by the committee chairperson to discuss the recommendation, followed by a formal written notice of the final assistance details.
